At its April 14 meeting, the Commission introduced an ordinance to define and regulate smoke shops. The Planning Board reviewed the ordinance at its April 21 meeting and recommended several changes. These changes are currently under review by Allegheny County, as required by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code. Therefore, the Commission will not be holding the previously announced public hearing on this ordinance at the May 14 meeting. The Commission will set a new date for a public hearing after the Planning Board makes a recommendation on the ordinance. The Planning Board is scheduled to discuss the ordinance at its June 16 meeting.
Check out the meeting video from the March 21 Planning Board meeting.
We will continue to update the ordinance timeline on this page.
