Presented by the Allegheny League of Municipalities in recognition of outstanding commitment to professional development, prudent fiscal management, transparency, accountability and proactive communications to engage community stakeholders. 2014-2024

Clearview Common: One of the Great Public Spaces in Pa.

Presented by the American Planning Association, Pennsylvania this award honors unique, memorable places that work not only for their community, but as a model others want to emulate–places of exemplary character, quality, planning, identity, cultural interest and community involvement with a sustainable vision for tomorrow.

Pennsylvania Governor’s Awards

Awarded for Local Government Excellence—Innovative Planning and Sound Land Use Practices, 2010, Building Community Partnerships, 2013

Tree City USA

Designated by the National Arbor Day Foundation in recognition of our maintaining a budget for tree planting and maintenance, establishing a parks advisory board to oversee trees and holding an annual Arbor Day Celebration.

Awarding winning Mt. Lebanon Magazine

We were selected as the first place winner in printed publications by the National Association of Government Communicators in 2024. We have been regularly recognized by Press Club of Western Pennsylvania, as well as in competitions sponsored by Women in Communications, International Association of Business Communicators and City/County Communicators Association

National Walk Friendly Community

Young Lungs At Play

Received certificate of Recognition from Pennsylvania Department of Health for efforts to protect the health of children and families by preventing tobacco exposure in public settings, 2016.

Sustainable Pennsylvania Community

Certified silver by Sustainable Pittsburgh in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Municipal League “for employing sustainable policies and practices.”

Safe Communities America designation

Mt. Lebanon received a Safe Communities America designation from the National Safety Council. To get the accreditation, Mt. Lebanon was required to document its unified, community-based approach to preventing injuries and death and commit to consistent improvement in the future.

ArbNet Arboretum

Mt. Lebanon is a Level 1 Accredited Arboretum, which means we are dedicated to increasing species diversity and specimen tree plantings in the municipality’s parks, parklets and traffic islands, with the long-term goals of enhancing the character, resiliency and visual appearance of the community.
