Summer Camps (Specialty)

Summer Public Safety Camp

Public safety camp is a group effort by the Mt. Lebanon Police and Fire Departments as well as Medical Rescue Team South EMS. Each day will have different events related to all three public safety departments. Other local agencies also participate in this week long camp.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Volunteers are needed to help guide groups of children. Volunteers must be between at least 16 years old to volunteer for the Public Safety Camp. Please contact the Recreation Office at (412) 343-3409 for more information. Clearances are required for volunteers ages 18 and up. Click here to view the volunteer clearance policy.

Register

Camp will begin each morning with a flag ceremony and roll call. Each day will have different events related to all three public safety departments. Throughout the week campers will have the opportunity to see and touch the different vehicles used by public safety, participate in a bike rodeo, use a hose line from a fire engine, learn CPR and First Aid, play in 3 ft deep foam, participate in a rope rescue scenario, wear firefighter turnout gear and see a vehicle rescue demonstration.
