This tree typically grows to:  60 feet tall and 20-40 feet wide 

This tree prefers these conditions:  full sun.

Special about this tree:  

  • Long, dark green needles in bundles of two.
  • Pyramidal-shaped trees develop a domed crown as they mature.
  • Bark on mature trees forms dark brown plates.
  • Pine cones to 3 inches long with a tiny prickle at the tip.
  • Resistant to deer.
  • Can be susceptible to Diplodia tip blight. To prevent the blight, try to reduce overall stress on the tree, as stress heightens susceptibility. Make sure tree receives sufficient water, and avoid soil compaction.
