Wood Chips

Wood chips are a medium-sized solid material made by cutting, or chipping, larger pieces of wood. Wood chips may be used as an organic mulch in gardening and landscaping. Best of all, it is one of Mt Lebanon’s best-kept secrets.

Gardeners can get wood chips at the Mt. Lebanon Golf Course Maintenance Facility, 998 Pine Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15234, (412) 343-4595.

This is a self serve program; please bring your own tools and containers. Wood chips are available for everyone (residents and non residents) Monday through Friday and first Saturday of each month, April through October, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Cost: $3 a bushel or $20 a truckload.

Payments: Exact cash payment or checks payable to Mt. Lebanon PA. Near the fuel pumps is a red box for your payments.
