Washington Road and Abbeyville Road

Columbia Gas is replacing pipelines along portions of Abbeyville Road and Washington Road in a project that is expected to last through late fall. Night work will begin on Washington Road, Monday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Then construction will shift to the daytime on Abbeyville Road, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers can expect potential lane closures during working hours. Beverly Roadconstruction

Columbia Gas will be doing line upgrades on Beverly Road between Cochran and Arden roads the week of May 11.  On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, the area will have intermittent lane closures. However, on Thursday, May 14, Beverly will be closed between Cochran and Arden between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. It’s possible contractors may need to continue into Friday, May 15. During the closure, Cochran Road will be open at the Beverly intersection, with one lane in each direction.  Get more information here.

Castle Shannon Boulevard

PennDOT is announcing work to improve Route 3037 (Castle Shannon Boulevard) in the Municipality of Mt. Lebanon, Allegheny County, continues this weekend Friday, June 26 through Sunday, June 28 weather permitting.

Concrete repairs requiring a one-way detour in the southbound direction on Castle Shannon Boulevard between Sunset Drive and Mt. Lebanon Boulevard will occur from 9 a.m. Friday morning continuously through 6 a.m. Sunday morning. All through traffic will be detoured. Traffic in the northbound direction will be maintained.

Southbound Castle Shannon Boulevard

  • Motorists traveling in either direction on Washington Road (Route 19) will turn onto Mt. Lebanon Boulevard
  • Follow Mt. Lebanon Boulevard to Castle Shannon Boulevard
  • End detour

Motorists entering Scott Road from a side street will need to follow Scott Road to Route 19 and then follow the posted detour. Please note, there are no short-cuts through the side streets in the area.

Additionally, traffic stoppages of 15 minutes or less may occur.

Crews from Gulisek Construction, LLC will also conduct saw cutting operations, drainage improvements, joint sealing, and line painting.The work is part of a $3.88 million group concrete repair contract.

Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns. Please slow down and drive safely through the work zone. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Larchdale Drive, Pinewood Drive, Arrowood Drive and Maplewood Drive

Contractors for Pa. American Water will be installing water lines on these streets starting Tuesday, April 21 through the end of July, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. 

Please use caution when driving through the area and allow extra time. 

Painters Run Road

Crews will close part of the 1800 block of Painters Run Road in Scott Township starting at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, and lasting at least a week.

Although this work is not in Mt. Lebanon, it could cause significant delays in that area. Traffic will be detoured using Bower Hill Road, Kelso Road and Robb Hollow Road.

The closure is part of an ongoing project on Painters Run Road. Closures are expected to end in November, 2020.

Scrubgrass Road (Scott)

Contractors will work on the gas line on Scrubgrass Road in Scott Township. Single-lane alternating traffic will be between Old Scrubgrass Road and Swallow Hill Road weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through late March. Even though the project isn’t in Mt. Lebanon, it could potentially cause delays for drivers in the area.

Jonquil Place and Sunset Drive

Columbia Gas is replacing more than 3,900 feet of underground pipe along portions of Jonquil Place and Sunset Drive. Drivers can expect lane restrictions during working hours from Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work is expected to begin at the end of March and last through early Fall, weather permitting.
