Castle Shannon Boulevard

Contractors will be making improvements on Castle Shannon Boulevard requiring single-lane alternating traffic between Mt. Lebanon Boulevard and Willow Avenue (in Castle Shannon) through late October. Currently, contractors are working between Willow Avenue and Mt. Lebanon Boulevard using short-term traffic patterns controlled by flaggers.

    Scott/Sunset/Mt. Lebanon Boulevard

Beginning the week of Sept. 9, they will start work between Scott/Sunset and Mt. Lebanon Boulevard. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This project will also require overnight work so expect lane restrictions starting at 6 p.m. and lasting through 6 or 7 a.m. on some evenings.

Additionally, beginning Sept. 13 and continuing for three weekends (weather dependent and skipping the weekend of Sept. 20), work will call for a single direction detour between Mt. Lebanon Boulevard and Scott Road, starting at 8 p.m. Friday. Traffic traveling south/east (from Dormont/Mt. Lebanon towards Castle Shannon) will be detoured via Washington Road to Mt. Lebanon Boulevard and then back to Castle Shannon Boulevard. Traffic traveling north/west (from Castle Shannon towards Dormont/Mt. Lebanon) will not be impacted. The detour will be removed and traffic restored to its normal operations no later than 6 a.m. Monday. Please contact Brandon Farrell, Project Manager (724-809-5804) if you have questions.

    Cooke Lane

Cooke Lane will be closed for work on the T tracks starting at 8 p.m.  beginning 8 p.m. September 20 through 5 a.m. September 23. Detours will be in place.

    Beverly Road/McFarland Road

Contractors will be working on the intersection of Beverly Road and McFarland Road Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Wednesday, September 18 and lasting for several weeks. During several weekends starting September 20 and 21 from 8 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday, McFarland Road will be closed from Beverly Road to Dell Avenue (local traffic will be able to enter and leave during the closure.) If you live in the area, you may also hear some noise from the work. Please heed "no parking" signs so that your car will not be towed. Please see the contractor's memo for contact information and other details if you have questions.
