Parking rate changes

Mt. Lebanon's parking rates have changed, with the goal of encouraging drivers to use the garages for longer visits to our Washington Road business district.

Cost for the North and South garages is $1.50 if you stay for an hour, $2.50 if you stay for 2 hours and $3.50 if you stay for three hours. Washington Road meters are $1 for the first hour (25 cents per 15 minutes), $4 for the second hour ($1 per 15 minutes) and $6 for the third hour ($1.50 per 15 minutes.) For most people, the rate won't change as 70 percent of parkers on Washington Road stay less than an hour, which costs the same as last year. And 92 percent of people stay less than two hours. For a three-hour appointment, you could spend $3.50 in the garage, or $11 on-street.

Garage parking is only $1 for the whole day Saturday and free on Sunday.

Turning the street spaces over quickly allows more people to access nearby parking for quick trips and short errands.
