Don’t miss “Darius Goes West,” Sunday, May 18, at 6:45 in the Mt. Lebanon Public Safety Center, 2nd floor learning center, 555 Washington Road. The award-winning film tells the story of a young man with Duchene muscular dystrophy whose friends take him on cross-country odyssey to test accessibility and convince the TV show “Pimp My Ride,” to customize his wheelchair. Partnered by the Parents Resource Network and other community groups including Mt. Lebanon School District and Mt. Lebanon Municipality, the inspiring film is suitable for children and adults. Admission is free. A social hour sponsored by the Mt. Lebanon Community Relations Board will follow at 8:30. Parking in available on street and in the North Garage. Students from Mt. Lebanon High School are ready to premiere the student-created film "Every 15 Minutes." The movie, which shows the dangers of drinking and driving, will have several screenings the week of May 18. The community is invited to a public premiere at 7:30 p.m. May 21, in Mellon Auditorium. The annual South Hills Memorial Day Parade will take place Monday, May 26, beginning at 10 a.m. The parade route begins at Brookline Boulevard and ends at the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery and is followed by a memorial service at noon.
