The water line underneath Washington Road will be repaired in the 700 block, between Central Square and the fountain at Alfred Street, from 9 a.m. Thursday, March 23 until 6 a.m. Friday. Traffic lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction for the duration of the work. Alfred Street and Central Square also will be closed at the intersection with Washington. Avoid the area if you can.
Bower Hill Road
Contractors will begin work on Wednesday, March 8, on the water line on Bower Hill Road. The project, which will last approximately two weeks, will feature work starting as early as 8 a.m. and concluding as late as 4 p.m. Work may also mean single lane traffic on Bower Hill Road and side street closures anywhere along the route, from Cochran Road to St. Clair Hospital. Flaggers will be on site to divert traffic. Allow extra time or avoid the area if possible.

Contractors will resume work on Monday, March 6, at the intersection of Cochran and Beverly Road, heading south, working on sidewalks, curbs and ramps. Most of the work will be done from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Work will require some single lane traffic restrictions for the next four weeks.
Contractors will begin gas line work on Gilkeson Road on Monday, January 23, weather permitting.
Gilkeson will have single lane restrictions between Route 19 and Old Gilkeson Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Friday, April 28. One lane will be open in each direction throughout the project.
